
If you’re upgrading from BlackBook 2 you must undo the ‘firewall workaround’.
BlackBook 3 does NOT require the “FIREWALL WORKAROUND”. SMS are instantly hidden, and you must undo all firewall settings you previously set.
1. Go to OPTIONS > SECURITY OPTIONS > FIREWALL
2. Disable firewall
3. Block Incoming Messages > UN-CHECK SMS
4. Except Messages From > UN-CHECK ADDRESS BOOK CONTACTS
5. Press MENU > SAVE
6. Reboot the phone by PHYSICALLY REMOVING THE BATTERY (Do not use quick-pull etc).
New installs follow this:
BlackBook 3 requires that all app permissions are set to allow, and a battery-pull has been completed to restart the phone.
1. From your BlackBerry home screen, select OPTIONS
2. Choose ‘Advanced Options’
3. Choose ‘Applications’
4. Scroll down to BlackBook, and press the MENU button
5. Choose ‘Edit Permissions’
6. Expand each category by pressing SPACE on them
7. Ensure everything is set to ALLOW
8. Save the changes
9. Pull the battery on your phone to allow a full restart of the system
If you get any further pop-ups requesting access by BlackBook, allow them all.
